This presentation provides an overview of a number of Agile methodologies and details their benefits, weaknesses, and when they are commonly used.
Description: In today’s world of fast paced technology and continually changing requirements and project scope, the need for Agile Project Management has greatly increased. Responding to this demand, the PMI® (Project Management Institute) launched a new certification, the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)SM. The result of this fast-growing certification is the creation of a new space where Project Management and Agile Practices for Software Development meet.
What is Agile Project Management and when does it make sense to use it? What are benefits of using an Agile approach, and when is it not a good fit? How does Agile relate to traditional project management? Are there similarities, or do I need to relearn everything I know about project management to lead Agile projects?

Susan Parente (PMP, PMI-RMP, PMI-ACP, PSM I, CSM, CSPO, CISSP, CRISC, RESILIA, ITIL, GLCP, & MS Eng. Mgmt.)
Senior Instructor
Susan Parente is an instructor at PMO Advisory, an Associate Professor at Post University, Adjunct Professor at Montclair State University, and a Lecturer at University of Virginia. She is an author, mentor and teacher focused on risk management, traditional and Agile project management. Her experience is augmented by her Masters in Engineering Management with a focus in Marketing of Technology from George Washington University, DC, along with a number of professional certifications. Ms. Parente has 18+ years’ experience leading software and business development projects in the private and public sectors, including a decade of experience implementing IT projects for the DoD.
